Sharpen weak spots with goal-driven tasks

Tactical Forge creates tasks from selected material, engine evaluation and a clear finish condition. It is not a dry puzzle list; it trains you to preserve an advantage, find engine moves or convert a position to the end.

You can train randomly, choose pieces, set the minimum evaluation and decide whether the goal is mate, draw, maintaining the advantage or finding engine lines. Each set should feel like heated steel: focused, demanding and ready to shape habits.

The forge burns brightest when it uses your own mistakes from game history. Then the task is not anonymous: it is your position, your moment and your chance to play stronger next time.

Each set should train one decision. When the goal is to preserve an advantage, choose an evaluation threshold and play until the position is simplified without losing control. When the goal is mate, finding the first check is not enough: the forced net must remain intact even if a deeper engine pass reports a huge numeric advantage instead of an M score. This tests the meaning of the position rather than the formatting of one engine value.

Do not create difficulty through randomness alone. Start with small groups of five to ten positions and note whether a miss came from an unknown pattern, faulty calculation, or haste. Add more pieces or a deeper continuation only after two accurate runs. A short and measurable session repeated regularly builds recognition more reliably than a long session in which every puzzle tests a different skill.
